So, the challenge is done, finished, complete. Stages 13, 14 and 15 of the 2024 Tour de France have been ridden back to back. It was, err, a challenge but it's all for a great cause. We were blessed with the weather on day 1, and later on on day 3 the clouds cleared and the sun shone, but day 2 was certainly a hideous weather day in the mountains which made it all the more interesting. If you are into numbers and details, here is breakdown of the days.
Day 1 - Stage 13
Day 2 - Stage 14
Day 3 - Stage 15
If you believe the data coming from my cycling computer and Strava then some cumulative numbers include :-
563km / 350miles
10,911 meter of climbing
14,115 calories burnt
105,298 pedal revolutions
The trip was exceptionally well organized by Le Loop, faultless from start to finish. All credit to them and the other riders, especially the Grand Loopers that are riding all of the stages - an incredible thing to do as an amateur rider and it really puts into perspective what the pros are capable of.
I'm honored to have been part of the group and been able to raise, thanks for the many very generous donations, the money I have for the William Wates Memorial Trust.
So, until next year.... Thank you again to the entire le Loop team, my fellow riders and those that kindly sponsored me.
